This calculator can be used when you have detailed knowledge of the vessel and voyage as well as fuel usage in question. The more detail your input the more accuracy you will achieve in the given result, however there are so many variables involved in maritime transport and shipping that this should still be looked at as an approximation. We are constantly improving our methods of calculation and we employ safety margins not to underestimate the emissions calculated.

The IMO number is optional but will, if inserted, be included in the Certificate. If the vessel is built after year 2000 you there will be a rebate given in the calculation.

Rebates can be obtained if the engine uses clean fuel or if if the engine is of a slow speed type. Also if you know your engine's specific fuel consumption this figure can be used in our calculations.
